Simulation of fluid or gas flow as well as modelling of thermodynamic processes is an important base for the design of a variety of components and installations.

Extrusion Die Optimization

For extrusion die optimization we simulate fluid flow and pressure losses. Based on these results we propose improved die designs. Thus, cost intensive trial-and-error optimization by fabrication and testing of a variety of dies is avoided.

Chip Cooler

For the dimensioning and positioning of a chip cooler, many aspects have to be taken into account. Amongst others, distances between fins and their thickness influence the air flow speed and therefore the temperature distribution in the surrounding of the cooler. The optimal design could be found by parameter variation in a model.
